Boys Under 19’sDTBC 80Letterkenny Blaze 68DTBC boys hosted league rivals Letterkenny Blaze on Sunday evening in what was always going to be an intense game. DTBC got of to a great start with Joesph Jordan scoring a nice fast break from the tip off.Blaze played man to man defence and set the tone early with their physical presence. Both teams traded baskets for the opening 5 minutes. Blazes big men scored some terrific baskets in the paint and got numerous scores of rebounds. It was the home team though that led at the end of the quarter, spearheaded by captain Eoghan Mc Partlan who finished the quarter with an impressive 19 points and would end up scoring 46 on the night. At the end of the first DTBC led 28 – 19.Blaze came out with fiery intensity in the second and crawled their way back into the game, closing the gap to one point. A special mention to DTBC’s inside players Theo, Shea, Leon, Charlie and Cormac who had a tough job all night battling with Blazes big men. The boys played a massive role on the defensive end, causing Blaze to turn the ball over on numerous times down the court. Theo Coulhon and Shea Byrne impressed with their great willingness to win, and this certainly reflected onto their teammates. The second half was a similar affair with both teams trading baskets from the start. DTBC stuck to their zone defence, forcing Blaze to take outside shots and keep the ball out of the hands of their big men, who were Blazes biggest threat all night. The DTBC duo of Mc Partlan and Skender, went on a scoring spree in the second, hitting some deep 3’s to edge the home team further ahead. Both teams put on a spectacular performance and all who were in attendance were on the edge of their seat the entire night. Its safe to say the future of basketball is in good hands with the talent that both clubs Blaze and DTBC are producing. So well done to coaches from both sides.DTBC SquadEoghan Mc Partlan 46Vasigile Skender 19Theo Coulhon 6Joesph Jordan 5Shea Byrne 2Cormac Carr 2Charlie Joe Mc NeeleyNiall FeeneyLeon Mc GintyCoachBrian Heeney See MoreSee Less

U12 Div 2 Boys team played the new Killybegs Atlantic team on Saturday afternoon. For many of the boys, it was their first day to experience the speed and intensity of a competitive game. As the game progressed the passing became better and then the scores began to drop into the basket. Special mention to Rhys Mosby who worked so hard on both sides of the court – offence and defensive .The boys learned so much and will hold them in good stead in future games. Well done to all the lads and to Caroline Kennedy for helping out on the day. See MoreSee Less
